The only Power Generation Guarantee in town
Everyone warranties the equipment. We guarantee the energy.
Imagine you have bought a car that is supposed to get 36 mpg, and after you buy it you never manage to get over 29. It is easy to relate to, and it is very frustrating. Now imagine that the same car came with a guarantee on the mileage.
Solar energy is the single most predictable renewable energy source in the world. Properly designed and installed, these systems should perform consistently and diligently for many decades. Based on your actual geographic location and the tilt and orientation of your panels, we can predict the annual production with real confidence.
So we do. And then, unlike everybody else, we stand behind the prediction. Power generation guarantees are not common in this industry, and that in itself tells you something about how confident most contractors are in their own forecasts.
Why a guarantee like this needs to exist at all.
I frequently see solar energy projects that will never pay for themselves, because of poor installation or poor design. Sadly, in many of these cases a smaller, properly designed system would actually have produced more energy and cost less money to buy.
Solar at the high-volume residential level is a fledgling industry and a very dynamic one. There is a lack of expertise and proficiency among contractors, and an absence of good consumer education and awareness. Because of that, the consumer is often buying blind, with no way to validate whether they got their money's worth or not.

The specifics, including the parts that limit it.
A guarantee with no boundaries is a slogan. Here are ours, stated before you buy rather than discovered afterwards.
What exactly are you guaranteeing?
The annual kWh figure that is logged on your rebate application. Every contractor is required to report a production forecast to the utility company supplying your rebate. That number is the one we guarantee.
Technically you would be due a reimbursement for any shortfall at the end of the three-year guarantee period. That is not really the point. We monitor your production and inspect your system periodically, watching for any lack of productivity. If there is a shortfall there is a reason for it, and it may be as simple as a blown fuse or as serious as a bad connection. The guarantee is what makes sure somebody goes and finds it.
Are you guaranteeing the weather?
No. We are guaranteeing that the system was designed and installed properly, and that it is performing properly.
Your production forecast is based on government data reflecting decades of weather patterns, so it would take much extended adverse weather to cause a system to miss it over three years. In the event there was such a factor, it would be taken into consideration.
What if I want the forecast tightened?
Occasionally, usually on commercial or large-scale jobs, a client wants to tighten up the forecast data and remove the buffers built into the government NREL figures. That is fine and we are happy to do it.
The original default NREL data is what the guarantee is measured against, and we say so before the work starts rather than after.
Does it apply to every property?
No, and this is the part worth reading twice. Because of shading or architectural challenges, some properties are not good candidates for solar energy. We tell people that.
Occasionally somebody is advised of it and still wants to move forward, and we are happy to oblige. On those systems the power generation guarantee does not apply, and you will know that before you sign anything.
We strive to be the very best solar energy integrator in the marketplace. We are focused on quality, service, professionalism, easy finance arrangements, competitive pricing, our exclusive power generation guarantee, and everything else that makes up a company that intends to still be here in twenty years.
As you consider who to have sell and install your solar project, we are confident and hopeful that you will find Advanced Solar and Electric to be your best choice.
