We sell energy, not equipment.
Anyone can put panels on a roof. The question is what comes out of them, and for how long. That is the part we put in writing.
Advanced Solar and Electric has been installing grid-tied solar for homes and businesses across Cibolo, San Antonio and South Texas for more than a decade. System design, shading management and equipment pairing are what actually decide how much power you get, so those are what we are careful about.
We do everything in-house, including the electrical work, with a full-time master electrician on staff. And we will tell you if your property is a poor candidate, before you have spent anything.
What we install
Five things we do, and we do all of them ourselves.

Why people pick us over the cheapest quote.
Most people have already bought something from the cheapest guy in town and know how that goes. These four are what we compete on instead.
The only Power Generation Guarantee in town
Everyone warranties the equipment. We guarantee the energy. The annual kWh figure filed on your rebate application is the number we stand behind.
Ten-year installation warranty
The industry standard around here is five years, because five is all CPS Energy requires. Your system should run for decades, so we cover ten.
Everything in-house, electrical included
Design, installation and the electrical work, all by our own people. We have a full-time master electrician on staff, not a subcontractor on call.
Licensed, insured, and here for the long run
TECL #27328, and we carry workman's compensation insurance that Texas does not require us to carry. One of the largest installers in South Texas, more than a decade in.
You will know exactly what you are getting into.
Not a rough estimate of how a system might perform. When we sit down with you, you leave with all five of these.
- How much power your system will actually generate
- What the system and its installation will cost
- What the electricity it produces is worth
- When you are predicted to break even
- What to expect on installation day

Four steps, and we do most of them for you.
The utility rebate application, the city permit, the inspection and the HOA submittal are ours to deal with. That is the part customers write to us about afterwards.
Free assessment
We look at your roof or your land, your orientation and your last twelve months of bills, and tell you what a system would actually produce.
A design, and a number
You get the production forecast, the cost, the value of the power and the break-even. A bigger system is not automatically a better one.
We handle the paperwork
Utility rebate application, city permit, inspection and the HOA submittal. This is the part customers write to us about afterwards.
Install, inspect, switch on
Our own crew and our own master electrician. Then we monitor production against the figure we guaranteed.
In their words
What customers actually wrote.
From Angie's List and letters sent to the office. Quoted as written, spelling and all.
We received a proposal from Mr. Dickey, detailing how much the system would cost as well as how much energy the system would produce with what he called a “power generation guarentee”, this was the only company that offered us this. Mr. Dickey took the time to explain how the entire process works and answered all of our questions in detail until we were comfortable moving forward.
Everyone I dealt with at Advance Solar were very professional. I did not feel like I was dealing with a salesman when Mr. Dickey was talking with me about the solar panels. He explained what would work best on my house and why. He was not pushing me to buy the biggest and best system with all the bells and whistles like some of the other contractors.
Excellent. We could not be happier. Advanced Solar took the time to explain the system, the process and the rebates / credits. Once hooked up to CPS the system, even on a cloudy day produces more energy than we consume. We found Advanced Solar to be most professional, courteous of our time and property and genuine in their consultative sales approach.
Answers to the questions we get most.
Mostly about the guarantee, the warranty and whether any of it actually pays. There are more on the FAQ page.
What is a Power Generation Guarantee?
Every contractor has to file a production forecast with the utility supplying your rebate. We guarantee that number. If your system does not produce the annual kWh logged on your rebate application over the three-year guarantee period, that is on us. Most warranties come from the equipment manufacturer and are set by industry standard, not by your contractor. This one is ours.
Does that mean you are guaranteeing the weather?
No. We are guaranteeing that the system was designed and installed properly and is performing properly. Your production forecast is based on government data covering decades of weather patterns, so it would take sustained, unusual weather to move it. If that happened, it would be taken into consideration.
What happens if my system underperforms?
We monitor your production and inspect the system periodically, watching for any drop. If there is a shortfall there is a reason for it, and it can be as simple as a blown fuse or as serious as a bad connection. The guarantee is what makes sure somebody goes and finds out.
How long is the installation warranty?
Ten years on our installation. The common figure around San Antonio is five, because five years is all CPS Energy requires. Your system should be working for decades, so ten years of coverage is a better place to start.
Do you do the electrical work yourselves?
Yes. Design, installation and the electrical work are all in-house, and we have a full-time master electrician on staff. We are a licensed electrical contractor and we carry workman's compensation insurance, which the State of Texas does not require us to carry.
